Having your plumber check your property's sewer lateral line once every five years is an important part of your maintenance responsibilities.

Failing sewer laterals are caused by age deterioration, loose fixtures, and tree root growth which let water into the line. Water that doesn't need to be treated enters the lateral line from connected downspouts and sump pumps.
